Torb's Group's story

Torb, aged 40 years, is a villager in a rural village of Moung Russey district in Cambodia's Battambang province. She is married and has five children.

Torb has been working so tirelessly for ten years as a rice farmer to continually support the family. Each day, she is able to earn approximately 28,000 KHR. Torb, a first-time borrower with VisionFund (Kiva's partner), is leading a loan group of three female members to take out a loan in the amount of 1,000,000 KHR each. The group leader Torb will utilize her loan portion to pay the cost of labor. Torb has a dream of being able to expand her rice-growing business by buying more plots of farm.
