A loan of $625 helped to buy new stocks of potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and other groceries.

Joseph's story

Joseph lives in the Kilifi area of Coast Province, Kenya. He is a married father of one child and owns a green grocery stall which he has been operating for four years. In this business, Joseph sells greens, fruits, vegetables, mineral water, flour and other soft drinks, and other items. He began the business through the capital he raised from the casual jobs he once performed.

Joseph learnt about Milango through a friend and joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve his business operations. The challenges he is facing are bad debts and high cost of transport.

Joseph is applying for a loan of 52,250 KES shillings to buy new stocks of potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and other groceries. The extra income from the loan will be added to his savings to expand his business. His plans for the future are to start other businesses and also open stalls in different areas.
