A loan of $800 helped to purchase her sales cart.

Edith Nora's story

Edith is a very hard-working woman and above all, a self-sacrificing mother. Since she is a single mother, she alone must work to provide her two small children, ages 4 and 2, with the opportunity to get ahead. For them, she would give her life and for this, she strives day after day, to be able to offer them a life of dignity and above all, love. Edith is from a humble background and it's for this reason, that she could only study until sixth grade, but she would have very much liked to have been able to complete high school and have a profession.

Each day, in the early hours of the morning, Edith leaves to work on her tricycle, offering bread to the neighbors in her community and in the streets of the city where she lives. She works at this about 5 hours a day and can have up to 25 customers a day. She believes that her work is going well because she is friendly to her customers and above all, she is responsible and very hard-working.

Edith is very grateful to the Kiva lenders since thanks to the great support they have offered her, she will be able to purchase a new tricycle since the one she currently has is very old and breaks down constantly. In this way, she will be able to improve her income and have the necessary tools to be able to work and continue striving to make her great dream come true: "to give her children a good education and to improve her home."
