A loan of $1,600 helped to buy inventory.

Norma Herlinda's story

The “1 de Diciembre” communal bank meets every two weeks in “San Clemente del Cantón Sucre.” This area is known for its beautiful beaches that are well visited by many local and foreign tourists. It offers diversity in its beauty and rich variety of typical regional dishes.

Norma lives here. She is 48 years old, married, and has three adult children; two of them still live at home. Her husband is a driver.

Norma is a great housewife who sells natural and Esika products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and accessories for ladies) She sells door to door five days a week, one or two hours a day and when she has some free time. She doesn’t have a fixed schedule and sells on credit, collecting every week. She’s been doing this for nine years and things are going well for her. Most of her sales come from the natural products because they are very good.

She will use the money from this loan to buy natural products, perfumes, creams, cosmetics, and costume jewelry. She has been with the communal bank for more than 13 years and she likes it because the loans help her get ahead.

Her dreams are to continue ahead with her personal life and her business.
