A loan of $400 helped to buy groceries such as rice, sugar, milk, legumes, candy, oil, and others.

Luz Ezequiela's story

Luz is a 62 year old woman who lives in the city of Ica with her husband who she loves and appreciates for all his support. She is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who has a great desire to overcome. Unfortunately, because of a lack of economic resources and because she had to work to support her parents, Luz was not able to study for a professional degree. However, she would very much have liked to do so. In her free time, she likes to sew and embroider and sometimes to cook a tasty chicken in adobo sauce to share with her family.
On her own initiative, and with much determination and dedication, Luz works in her own business selling hamburgers and fried chicken. She also has a small grocery shop where she sells staple goods. Luz works every day from the early hours and works for about 8 hours. She believes she is doing well because of her good flavors and the kind treatment that she gives to her customers.
Luz is very grateful to the Kiva lenders as, thanks to the help offered, she will be able to buy groceries such as rice, sugar, milk, legumes, candy, oil, and others. In this way, Luz will have a better supplied store and will be able to serve more customers. So, she will be able to keep working and striving to be successful and to achieve her great dream of having a long and full life alongside her husband.
