Dolores's story

Dolores is 61 years old, married, and has four adult children. She is from Malpaisillo, a place located in the western zone of the country. Dolores is a person known for her friendliness, responsibility, and dedication to her work and to her perseverance in her sales of firewood, nacatamales (typical food of the region) and fresh drinks. She works in an establishment she set up in her community 15 years ago and up to now this has been her way of making a living.

Her daily routine is to work 10 hours daily making and selling her different products like nacatamales, and natural drinks. She has worked with the foundation before and has a demonstrated on time payment record. She will use the money from this loan to buy supplies and ingredients to make her nacatamales, such as pork, condiments, nacatamal leaves, firewood, gas, potatoes, rice, and fruit like pineapple, bananas, watermelon, oranges, and calalas. Dolores is grateful for the help from the Kiva lenders who help people in poor countries like Nicaragua had a dignified means of working.
