Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $875 helped to expand his house.

Ivo Luigy's story

Ivo, age 47, is single. He does not have a life partner, children, or dependents. He completed school and was studying at the university. He was in his third year, but he did not manage to finish due to lack of financial resources. His father died from an illness, so he only completed the technical level.

He currently lives in the Zona Central in the Cochabamba department in Bolivia. He lives in the same house as his mother. He supports her and takes care of her.

He works as an owner in the urban transportion business. He works from Mondays to Sundays on different daily schedules. His main expense is paying for fuel and vehicle maintenance.

At the present time he and his mother only have two rooms and a small kitchen. Therefore, he is requesting a loan to expand his house in order to to make them both more comfortable.
