A loan of $600 helped to buy more meat.

Jose Genaro's story

Sixty-eight year old Jose is originally from Rivas but he has now been living in Managua for 30 years. He completed up to the end of fifth year of secondary school and is married with five children. The are all now independent adults. Jose is a businessman and works selling meat. He started this six years ago with his own capital that he earned in his previous job, with a company called "Carnic". It was there that he gained experience and decided to start up his own meat selling business. This business generates lots of profits and he also receives a pension. This is the only business he has had and counts on support from his wife. He hopes to sell his products to general stores and supermarkets so as to generate a higher income to keep the business stable.

Jose is applying for this loan to buy more meat. He thinks the loan will help him to increase stock and be able to offer other types of meat to satisfy the needs of his customers. His plans for the future are to expand the business by buying other meats that he does not already offer. His next goal is to invest in the buying and selling of meat.
