A loan of $250 helped to buy sodas of various brands and with various labels.

Evelith's story

Friendly and polite Evelith (27 years old) is hard-working and has a lot of desire to move ahead in life. She is separated from the father of her two children. She lives at her parents' house with her mum, dad, three siblings, grandfather, uncle and her two children (eight and five years old) whom she loves very much.

Evelith sells various brands and flavours of chilled soda. For this she has a fridge and a small area in her house where she tends to her customers in a friendly and cordial manner.

She started this work over three years ago with her own capital, and she now has the support of her parents who serve customers when Evelith is out.

As well as selling sodas, Evelith also makes jams, a skill she learned as part of a project run by the local authorities. For the moment she is not doing this. She does this work alone.

Evelith likes her work as it keeps her busy and gives her an income which she can use to offer a better quality of life to her family. She took on this business because she saw that there was little competition in the area. The money she is making gives Evelith financial and emotional peace of mind. Plus, seeing the positive results, she now has plans to improve the business and buy another fridge. So, this will be her third loan with MFP and she feels happy to count on the loans so as to make the business progress. She also says that she feels comfortable with this communal bank because she knows other members and believes that they are friendly and responsible.

Evelith will use the 600 Nuevo Soles loan that she has applied for to buy sodas of various brands and with various labels. She will look for low prices to buy in bulk and any money leftover will be used to repair the fridge which is currently not working very well.
