A loan of $1,500 helped to buy batteries, motor oil, tires, and other products.

Hector Amilkar's story

Héctor, age 33, is originally from Managua. He is married and has a university education. Héctor is the father of two children, ages 2 and 5 respectively. He is a merchant and has a business where he sells vehicle spare parts and provides tire repair services. Héctor started 12 years ago selling lubricants, but this business was not profitable since he was not able to generate much income. He then started another business repairing and aligning tires. Héctor looked for a place that was available for establishing this business, but he ended up at the location that was used for his first business. His brother helps him with the work.

Héctor is requesting a loan so that he can buy batteries, motor oil, tires, and other products. All of these items are needed in his workshop. He believes the loan will also help him acquire more fixed assets such as a display cabinet, new tools, and a variety of other products that he currently does not have in stock. As a result, he will be able to satisfy the needs of his customers.

Héctor’s future plans include buying another plot of land so that he can expand and open another business that involves selling all types of spare parts. The next items on his priority list include replacing the machinery used for vehicle repairs and improving the infrastructure of his shop so that it will have a better appearance.
