Bertty's story

Betty lives in the municipality of Sabanagrande. She has worked in trade for 24 years. She decided to support the management of her home, looking to improve the well-being of her family, which is made up of her spouse and three children who are between 21 and 27 years old. Betty works from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., with the goal of earning a higher income which will allow her to grow her business and earnings. She sells varied merchandise, especially clothing, and now she also has a refreshment stall where she sells soda, tea, and other beverages. She sells large quantities of beverages in cash and credit. She buys from large suppliers who offer her good discounts and the opportunity to give the best prices to her clients. The most important commercial period of the year is coming, and Betty should be prepared to fulfill the demand and respond to her clients in order to generate more income with her work. Therefore, she is applying for her first Kiva loan, which is her third with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation. She will use this loan to buy blouses, soda, and other soft drinks. With her Kiva loan well invested, she will ensure success and achieve her dream of prosperity little by little. She dreams of seeing her business grow and maintaining sources of financing which allow her to achieve her goals, such as the opportunity she has now through her third credit with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation.
