A loan of $650 helped to buy paint and to waterproof the roof of her house.

Juanita's story

Juanita was born in the town of Jiménez. When she was 20 she married Alvino and for work reasons they moved to Ciudad Acuña, where their first two children were born. Ten years later they arrived in the city of Piedras Negras, where with a lot of effort they managed to buy their first house and their other three children were born. Unfortunately, her husband died because of his health. Now she supports herself on the pension her husband left her. Juanita also has worked as the manager of a laundry for 20 years. She's a very friendly person who always helps all the customers.

With effort and dedication she expanded her house. She says her goal is to leave her house in good condition because it's where all her family gets together. She would like to leave a good place for her grandchildren and children to remember her as a hardworking woman.

This is why she needs help to remodel the outside of her house, because the paint has deteriorated. She'll also waterproof the roof so water won't get it during the rainy season.
