A loan of $1,275 helped to buy fabrics for launching her new business.

Mahbuba's story

Mahbuba has dedicated her life to the upbringing and education of her country's youth. Mahbuba is 51 years old, married, and raising 2 children. She has been working as a high school teacher for over 30 years and loves her job. The local populace respects Mahbuba as an educated and hard-working woman as well as a highly qualified educator. However, for a number of years, Mahbuba has been unable to improve her living conditions due to her and her husband's small salaries, which do not allow them to buy all necessities of life.

Mahbuba would like to start her own business in order to generate additional income. To this end, she took the course "Succeed", organized by the Association of Business Women, and obtained her graduation certificate. Now she is quite ready to set up her own business and become successful. Mahbuba would like to start making traditional "kurpacha" mattresses as she has experience in this craft. Kurpacha is a mattress used by Tajiks both in bedrooms and in living rooms, and so it is always in high demand. Mahbuba will sew kurpachas and sell them at the local market. She plans to use her additional income to improve her living conditions. She is requesting a loan of 6000 somoni to purchase fabrics for her new business. Mahbuba is counting on your kindness.
