A loan of $350 helped to buy some of the supplies for the garden and to buy animals.

Gertrudis Patricio's story

Gertrudis is 52 years old and is native of the region called Cacaos, on the outskirts of Teustepe. He is the father of six adult children, only one of them is currently studying. He is businessman by profession, and he is dedicated to one of the most common activities in the Teustepe city such as planting corn, beans and wheat. He started farming 27 years ago.

Gertrudis is in charge of the land and keeps the pastures, but he not only takes care of the land, he also grows corn, beans, and wheat. He also milks his cows and breeds pigs. He says that when he sells out the crops, he sells it in the same area to avoid transportation costs and because it is safer to sell his product within the community. He has other income such as money his children give him.

He is requesting this loan to buy some of the supplies for the garden and to buy animals. He estimates that this credit will be helpful because he will be able to invest more in the production of even more animals and then sell at a better price. He will also be able to repair the fences to keep the cows pass the garden. His future plans are to cancel the credit after the harvest. Also, with the profits of selling the pigs, he wants to buy some cows to obtain higher income.
