A loan of $1,500 helped to buy a motorcycle.

Demetrio's story

Demetrio, 35, did not study because of the financial crisis that affected his family. He lives in a common-law marriage with Salomé, 31. They have four children. He needs help so his children can study. Demetrio says it's possible his children won't be able to study because of his lack of resources. Since he was very young he has worked as a farmer, a bricklayer, and a motorcycle taxi driver, to have a better and prosperous future.

He currently works as a motorcycle taxi driver for the Carrasco labor union in the community of Ivirgarzama, town of Puerto Villarroel. The service he offers is profitable because of the high demand from people who request it because of ease, speed, punctuality, responsibility, and efficiency. To improve his income Demetrio also works in agriculture on his days off.

The loan will be to buy a new motorcycle because the one he currently has no longer works, and to improve his customer service. This will allow him to improve his income and, consequently, his quality of life.
