Ruqayya's story

Ms Ruqayya is a 40-year-old active, married woman. She has been effectively doing a business of hand embroidery at her home for the last 9 years. Her collection is very famous in her town. She has gotten a lot of appreciation from her community members. She makes enough to lead a decent life, while her husband’s income is not sufficient to meet the everyday expenditures of the household, as he is a mason.

Ruqayya is a loving mother of four children. She is in charge of providing her family with good food, health and education. She has slowly but surely improved her business by taking loans from the Kashf Foundation. Now she has requested a loan of Rs. 40,000 to purchase a stock of threads and packs of sequins, glitters, etc. in different colors to complete customers' orders on time. She expects more profits and hence better support for her family. She desires to spend part of the income on providing good and quality education to her children.
