Valantine, age 50, is married with 2 children, ages 25 and 30 years old. She is representing the Philadelphia 2 group. Valantine bakes and sells beignets. She has been operating this small business for 22 years. She has acquired a good reputation in her community for her great tasting beignets. She will use the loan to buy flour, sugar, oil and yeast. Her business strategy is to offer good customer service. She always greets her clients and they never have to wait. This is Valantine's first loan from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. HOPE and her group are confident she will repay the loan. She hopes to continue to work hard and grow her business.
