A loan of $625 helped to buy a new stock of groceries (e.g. potatoes, onions, tomatoes) for his grocery stall.

Macmillan's story

Macmillan lives in the Kilifi area of Coast province, Kenya. He is a married father of two children and owns a green grocery stall which he has been operating for five years. In this business, Macmillan sells greens, fruits, vegetables, mineral water, and other soft drinks, etc. He began the business through the capital he raised from the casual jobs he once performed.

Macmillan learned about Milango Financial Services through a friend; he joined with an aim of accessing credit to improve his business operations. The challenges he is facing are bad debts and the high cost of transport.

Macmillan is applying for a loan of KES 52,250 (Kenya shillings) to buy a new stock of groceries (e.g. potatoes, onions, tomatoes). The extra income from the loan will be added to his savings to expand the business. His plans for the future are to start other businesses and also open stalls in different areas.
