Las Ovejitas 1 Group's story

Jesucita is the coordinator of her group, Las Ovejitas (The little lambs) group 1a. This group is located in the urban slums surrounding Santo Domingo, an area where crime is rampant and where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. Jesucita is the mother of three children and makes her home here in a simple structure with her long-term partner and her three children.

Jesucita is excited to be taking out her tenth loan with Esperanza and by the opportunity to grow her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business, a little restaurant called Comedor, where she prepares lunch for people in her community. Jesucita will purchase goods for cooking such as rice, beans, meat, and cooking oil, as well as disposables to serve at lunch. She will use the profits to invest in her business by rebuilding the structure, for a more comfortable a nice look. She thanks all of you for your support.

In this group: Jesucita, Ricoberis, Bangelina, Lidia, Arileiki
