A loan of $225 helped to purchase 20 quintals [2,000 pounds] of corn and 4 quintals [400 pounds] of wheat.

Henrry Antonio's story

Henrry is a 26-year-old native of the community of San Lorenzo in the outskirts of Boaco. He works in agriculture and is the father of a 5-year-old daughter.

Henrry began to work alongside his father when he was 10 years old; he only managed to finish primary school since he had to work to help out with household costs. The majority of his family has traditionally worked in farming, growing basic staples.

Currently, Henrry specializes in growing beans. When he's not farming, he makes a living buying and selling cattle. He needs this financing so that he can buy 20 quintals [2,000 lbs] of corn and 4 quintals [400 lbs] of wheat to store and then sell when there is a shortage of these products. This way, his customers will not do without these products.

One of Henrry's goals is to acquire more land to increase his plantings and to buy cattle to sell.
