A loan of $1,450 helped to buy potato, bean, and peanut seeds; manure; and agricultural chemicals.

Zenon's story

Zenón is 47. He comes from a humble family made up of five men and three women. They have scarce resources and therefore work with very small areas of land. He lives in the community of Matarani Chico in the city of Mizque in the department of Cochabamba. He has worked in agriculture and livestock for nineteen years. He produces and sells potatoes, beans, and peanuts to feed his family. He sells the extra in the same place where he lives to merchants from Mizque. He is a very respected person in the community because of his dedication to his work and for being responsible for his family's education and well-being. He is requesting this loan to buy more potato, bean, and peanut seeds; manure; and agricultural chemicals. In this way, he will have more income to improve his and his family's living conditions.
