A loan of $600 helped to buy fertilizer, manure, insecticide, and balanced feed.

Carmen Ester's story

Carmen, 54, is in a common-law relationship and has eight children. She lives with her husband and the children, who are still single, in the precinct of Desvió de los Amarillos in Ventanas Canton, Los Ríos Province. She belongs to Pequeños Agricultores Communal Bank in the precinct of Desvió de los Amarillos, where people work in agriculture and livestock.

Carmen makes a living in agriculture growing corn and raising barnyard animals such as chickens and pigs. With the loan she'll be able to buy supplies: fertilizer, manure, insecticide to avoid pests and disease, and balanced animal feed.

She makes her purchases in the city of Ventanas.

Her dream is to buy a plot of land to continue planting. She very much likes to celebrate the holiday of the patron saint of the precinct.
