Maria Isabel's story

Maria is 32 years old and is in a common-law marriage. She has four children. She lives with her husband and four children in the community of Desvió de los Amarillo, which belongs to the canton of Ventanas in the province of Los Ríos.

She belongs to the Pequeños Agricultores ("Small Farmers") communal bank, which is also located in the community of Desvió de los Amarillo in the canton of Ventanas. The bank is dedicated to agriculture and livestock.

Maria makes a living in agriculture, sowing corn and raising farm animals, such as chickens and pigs. With this loan, she will be able to buy supplies such as fertilizer, manure, and insecticides to avoid infestation and disease, as well as balanced feed for the animals. She buys her supplies in the city of Ventanas.

Her dream is to buy land to continue sowing crops and a car for work. She enjoys celebrating the festivals of the patron saint of her community.
