Nelson's story

Nelson is 51, he has 32 years of experience as a hair stylist, he liked this activity since he was young; he started doing haircuts amongst his friends and family, focused in male hair cuts, he slowly started to develop an infrastructure for business and began a feminine and child line of service. Today his main products are blow dry, straightening, cuts and permanents. He is well known in his community, reason why he has an extended schedule that starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m. His goal is to improve his work environment, in terms of the conditions of the salon, to generate more income opportunities and increase his quality of life. His business style is to adapt to trends and to provide beauty and distinction to everyone that uses his services, this is why his customers are loyal and keep growing. He is currently requesting a Kiva credit, second loan provided by Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo, through which he will buy products such as shampoo, conditioners, hair color, etc., these are products that will be used at the salon or sold to his customers for daily use. Nelson is a great stylist and knows how to advise his clients in terms of what they need and what style suits them better, this is why his customers keep requesting his services, particularly during special occasions, such as the ones at the end of the year when the joy from Christmas and the new year around happy families are the goals at the every home and this makes a good investment of his Kiva loan.
