A loan of $200 helped to buy tea tree seedlings for the business.

Peter's story

Peter lives in the Nanyuki area of Central province, Kenya. He owns a tea tree farming business. He started the business from the income of subsistence farming. The extract from tea trees is used to manufacture cosmetics. He began the business of tea tree farming this year.

He learned about Milango through an employee who invited him to the group, and he joined the group with an aim of accessing credit. The main challenge in the area has been the seasonal weather. This he believes will be sorted once he purchases a water pump.

Peter is applying for a loan of 15,769 Kenya shillings to buy tea tree seedlings for the business. His extra income from the loan will be added to his savings, and he looks forward to establishing the farm further by increasing the acreage.
