A loan of $1,375 helped to buy medicines.

Xiomara's story

Xiomara is 36 years old and shares her married life with José, both of whom are dedicated to their work. They are the proud parents of 3 children who are still in education and require all the support they can give. Xiomara owns a house built with solid materials. When she met José, a long time ago now, they shared a love for life. Once they had completed their higher level education in the area of health, this was their motivation for setting up their own business. They established the business in their house, as it is very convenient. However, it took them many years of work to acquire the house. They have been operating as independent traders for 8 years now. Thanks to their suppliers, who are reliable and offer good prices, they have been able to obtain medicines for their private health centre. This benefits the community. They work together, providing different types of healthcare services. As a result of their hard work and honesty the business is a main source of financial support for their family. From time to time there are special offers on batches of medicines. For this reason, they would like to have capital, so that they can take advantage of these offers. They will also be able to acquire branded and generic medicines to stock the business for a longer period of time. This enables them to continue contributing, through their work, to the social development of their local area. Their long-term goals are to expand the business into a large health centre, which can also cater for the poorer people in the area. With this loan of 3,500 Nuevos Soles they will buy medicines on special offer from their suppliers and purchase branded and generic medicines to stock their business.
