A loan of $600 helped to buy school shoes and uniforms.

Socorro's story

Socorro is 30 years old and single. She lives with her mother and her daughter, Luisita. She takes care of both of them in her own home.

Her main financial income comes from clothing sales. She has regular clients who visit her constantly and order clothes. She buys the clothing to trade. She says that on some days in which they pay in advance, and others in which customers pay in cash. She understands them all, because she has the advantage of being charismatic and supportive.

Aside from this work, she also sells beauty products from catalogs, such as lipstick and brand-name perfumes. She also works as a private employee in a house in the mornings. She makes food and cleans the house. She earns a monthly salary, which allows her to cover the rest of her family's expenses. She also cares for her mother, who is elderly. She receives a salary from her siblings, who make contributions for their mother.

This is her fifth loan with MFP. She is happy because she has the necessary capital to improve her business, and therefore her quality of life. She also enjoys belonging to her association, because the members are supportive and hardworking.

Socorro will invest this money in the purchase of school shoes and uniforms to fulfill her clients' orders.
