Kacheera Devt Co-Save Group
In this Group: Edith, Rolland, Johnson, Jackline, Godfrey, Maugyeri
Jackline, a member of the group above, lives in Kacheera, a local suburb in rural Lyantonde. The area is affected by a poor road network that is impassable and inaccessible, especially during the rainy season when it floods. Nevertheless, Jackline is determined to increase her agricultural production and provide tuition for her children. She will use the loan to buy Irish potato seeds for planting. It's the rainy season now and planting season as well so she hopes the yields will come out perfectly. The proceeds from the sales will be used to pay tuition for her children during the next academic year.

Jackline is hardworking and social and thanks group members for introducing her to the group from which she has learned to be responsible and have better upbringing for her children. The eighth person on the right is the Ugafode staff, while the one seated is the group chairperson who is resting this cycle. The rest are the group members and on the extreme right, standing, is Jackline.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
