Mariama J.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust is very pleases to present to you this group of teachers from one of the schools in Kenema city, in eastern Sierra Leone. This group of teachers, like their colleague teachers in other SMT operational areas comes to SMT to request for loans. With the help of these loans, they can meet their immediate financial challenges, and at the end of each month they repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Adonis is the featured leader of this group of borrowers. The 50-year-old is a native of Manowa, in eastern Sierra Leone. He is married to a trader and the couple has six children who are attending secondary schools and tertiary educational institutions. Adonis is a teacher who has served in the teaching profession for 28 years now. He has requested for this loan in order to buy house building materials such as cement, iron corrugated zinc, sand, nails, rods, etc., for the construction of a family dwelling house.
