A loan of $425 helped to buy sheet zinc to replace the roof of his soldering workshop.

Roberto Jose's story

Roberto is 36 years old and is from Estelí. He is the owner of a soldering workshop, father of a two-month-old son, and has a wife who is a stay-at-home mom. He supports his family through the money he earns from his business. He learned this trade when he was 18 years old and was working as an apprentice at a mechanic's shop where he used to solder car parts. He gradually saved up to be able to buy his own tools and then started his soldering and mechanic business.

One of his hopes is to be able to hire employees to help him, and to move the business near to the freeway because he sees this as a good location from which to offer his services.

He is requesting the loan to buy sheet zinc to be able to replace the roof of his workshop because it is old and falling apart. He needs to maintain the infrastructure of his business in good condition to be able to offer his customers a good service.
