A loan of $250 helped to buy children's clothing.

Rosa's story

Rosa is 29 years old and is a hardworking and dedicated woman with a great desire to get ahead. She lives with Aliardo, who is a laborer and they have two children, ages 8 and 2, whom they love very much; they all live comfortably in a home of their own. Rosa sells beauty products. She buys from a catalog and sells to her friends, family, and acquaintances, mostly for cash but sometimes for 30 days credit. This gives her good results and allows her to meet many people. She has been in this business for almost 11 years and has been doing it alone. At the same time she also sells children’s clothing, but only on occasion, such as during celebration times. She also does this alone and has been doing it for four years.

This business allows her to manage her free time to dedicate it to her children, whom she loves very much and are her motivation for getting ahead. This also provides her with income that she can use to help her husband meet the household expenses. On the flip side she says that it bothers her when her customers fall behind in their payments, but this does not discourage her and she has plans to keep working since she is comfortable in her business; it gives her the independence she needs. This will be her second loan through MFP and she is grateful for the opportunity to have this line of credit to move her business forward. She also says that she likes the communal bank because all the members are responsible and friendly.

She will use the 600 PEN from this loan to buy children’s clothing of different brands and styles for the holiday season; she has orders to deliver.
