A loan of $800 helped to buy staple products for her store.

Luzdina's story

Luzdina, who is 60 years old, is a hard working woman with a strong desire to succeed. She is separated from the father of her 3 children who are 38, 30 and 27 years old. She lives with her children and her grand children, in her own home.

The business that Luzdina runs is a small grocery store; she purchases products that are needed on a daily basis in larger stores in the city and she resells them from her home and also takes orders. Her store is located in a room in the front of her house, where she sells products to her neighbors on credit, charging interest daily. She has had this business for more then 5 years, in which time she has treated her customers in a kind and friendly way and by doing so has earned their loyalty. She considers her business to be very profitable because of the money she receives from selling on credit, for which she raises her prices considerably.

She likes her business because it allows her to work from home, close to her grandchildren who she takes care of with great love. Along with providing her with a job, the store also keeps her busy and provides her with an income to be able to help with household expenses as well as to help pay for the education of her grand children. Seeing the good results that she has had from her business, she has plans to continue and also to expand her business, purchasing more merchandise to stock her store and to have a larger variety of goods to offer.

This is the third loan she has taken out through MFP. She is happy to have the opportunity to take out a loan. She promises to make her payments, in order to have a good credit record and be able to take out more loans in the future.

With the 2000 nuevos soles she has requested, she will invest in purchasing more merchandise to stock her business, like basic needs products which she will buy at wholesale price in order to have higher profit margins.
