A loan of $600 helped to buy beauty products.

Marina's story

Marina, 38, is friendly, helpful, and hardworking. She is single and lives with her two children, ages 10 and 4, her parents, and her sister in the house her parents build with hard work and sacrifice many years ago. Marina sells beauty products, including perfume, cosmetics, and personal care items. She works alone and directly with her clients, who are mainly neighbors, friends, family, and coworkers at her government job. She has been in this business for five years. In the mornings, she is a high school teacher in the city.

She likes her work very much because it allows her to double her contribution to the family's income and pay her bills on time, while offering her children a better quality of life. She initially encountered problems like convincing her clients of her product quality, which impeded sales, but she was able to overcome this obstacle and is now a good salesperson. She has many plans, among which is opening a small boutique in her house to help meet her goals.

This is her third loan cycle with MFP, and she thanks those who make the loan possible so that she can continue to meet her objectives. She promises to once again make her payments on time, as she has done with past loans. She is happy to belong to her communal bank because all the members are decent, friendly, and caring. With the loan of S/. 1500, she will buy beauty products for inventory so that she can earn more income and a higher sales commission.
