A loan of $600 helped to buy dresses, T-shirts, trousers and some other products which her elegant customers request.

Maritza's story

Maritza, 42, as well as being happy and friendly, is a dynamic and hard-working lady. She is a single mother and has three children: Jim, Larry and Jhack aged 18, 20 and 24 respectively. She lives with her sons in a rented room.

Maritza's job consists of selling clothing to friends, neighbors and relatives. She started some six months ago and up until now, it has been going well for her. She works seamlessly without neglecting her household chores. In this season, she is selling dresses, T-shirts, blouses, jeans, skirts and other items particularly for women as the Christmas season is approaching. Maritza previously sold fruit juices and breakfasts on the sidewalk to her home.

She feels very much at home developing the business as her hard work is remunerated with the healthy income she receives, however, she needs some extra help as she wants to prepare for the coming Christmas season, by increasing the volume of goods. Luckily, the business is going well for her given that she has sold a lot, but due to a lack of investment, her sales cannot increase considerably. Her main aim is to make her business grow and for it to be profitable.

This is Maritza’s 2nd loan with MFP and she is grateful to all those who made her loan possible so that she can gain greater profits from her business. Similarly, Maritza pledges once again to meet repayments in a timely manner. She is also pleased about being part of her communal bank as all the members are responsible and very supporting people. With the loan of 1,500 Peruvian Nuevos Soles requested, Maritza will buy a larger volume of merchandise including dresses, T-shirts, trousers and some other products which her elegant customers request.
