A loan of $325 helped to buy fish.

Mariatou's story

Mariatou was born in 1979 in Mandela / Sikasso. She lives with her husband in Mandela (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

She has been involved in the activity of buying and selling fish for two years now. Thanks to her experience in this field, she enjoys a good reputation and receives orders from many customers. In order to have the necessary resources to meet her customers' needs, she decided to join Soro Yiriwaso in 2011. All her previous loans have been duly repaid.

This new loan will help her to buy and resell five boxes of fresh fish per day. The fish she buys and sells come from the Ivory Coast. Mariatou stocks up at the Sikasso market. She sells in Mandela, from her home and at the village market. Her customer base is made up of men and women from her village and surrounding areas.

With this loan, she is expecting average monthly profits to reach 20,000 CFA francs. These profits will help her to pay off her loan's interest. She will use the rest of the money to invest in her activity.
