Jumelle Group's story

The five members of the Jumelle group are married women with an average age of 35 and an average of three children. They live for the most part in monogamous families in Sanoubougou I, one of the working-class neighborhoods in the city of Sikasso. In order to satisfy customer demand, they are on their fifth loan with Soro Yiriwaso, a microfinance organization. In this group of women, Aminata sells drinks. She is seated in the photo. With her loan she plans to buy about 10 cases of sugary drinks that she will resell on-site and at the Sanoubougou I market. She expects to earn an average monthly profit of 23,500 FCFA, a part of which will be used to repay the loan and interest and the other part will be saved.
