A loan of $1,000 helped to buy compost.

Cesar's story

Cesar is 54 years old and is a sincere man of virtue; he is responsible and honest and lives with his wife of 22 years, Maritza. They have four children, whom they raised with lots of love in their own home. Now only one of their daughters, Mariacruz, still lives with them. [Cesar] has done many things over the years; among them he has worked as a mason in the capital city, where he has a good income that allowed him to support his family. The other activity was the raising of crops such as corn, ulluco, quinine, and wheat with partners on rented land. He then sells the harvests in Lima, where he obtains a good income. He also came up with the idea of selling green grains, so he and his children started this business and it’s been profitable. Now he has some fixed capital for that business and he is certain that he can grow it, but what he likes the best is raise livestock such as cows, bulls, and goats. He cares for them with much dedication and sells them to the butcher, who gives him the best price, whenever he has financial concerns.

He is a member of the “Pampa Blanca” communal bank and this will be his 11th loan through MFP, where he is happy because he has worked with his association for many years. The other members are human and above all have a great desire to help one-another. Cesar will use the money from this loan to buy compost for his next crop.
