A loan of $200 helped to buy tea tree seedlings for the business.

M'ituru's story

M'ituru lives in the Nanyuki area of Central province, Kenya. He owns a tea tree farming business. He started the business from the income of subsistence farming; he also grows potatoes, maize, and vegetables on a small scale. The extract from the tea tree is used to manufacture cosmetics. M'ituru began the business of tea tree farming this year.

He learnt about Milango through an employee who invited him to the group and he joined the group with an aim of accessing credit. His main challenge has been the seasonal weather. This he believes will be sorted once he purchases a water pump.

M’ituru is applying for a loan of 15,869 Kenya shillings to buy tea tree seedlings for the business. His extra income from the loan will be added to his savings and he looks forward to establishing the farm by increasing the acreage.
