Umida's story

This woman, who has gifted fingers, lives in northern Tajikistan and has a very big plan for her business. Her name is Umida and she is 24 years old, married, and she has two children. Her husband is a farmer and earns a very small income that isn't enough to provide the family with all the necessities. Since Umida is a seamstress and knows how to sew traditional women's dresses and traditional
futon-like mattresses called a "kurpacha," she decided to use her craft to help her husband with the family's well-being.

She used to not have any knowledge about business. But not long ago, a friend of hers told her about a course called "Attain Success" put on by the Associaiton for Business Women, where women learn how to write a business plan and start a business. Umida studied in the course and received a graduation certificate. Now she is fully able to start her own business and to be successful in it.

Since she has experience in making them, Umida wants to start a business in sewing "kurpacha," the traditional mattresses She plans to use the income from her business to provide her children with good educations and calorie-rich foods.
