A loan of $825 helped a member to purchase sheep.

Wassa Group's story

The group Wassa is composed of married women averaging 33 years of age and three children each all living in traditional extended families in Wakoro City, Region of Koulikoro. The women know one another through ties of kinship, community, and friendship. They do commerce in small ruminants, fish, and vegetables. The women of the group Wassa are on their fifth solidarity loan.

This client, DJENEBOU, the second person sitting from the left in the photo, intends to purchase 2 head of sheep from local retailers. These small ruminants will be fed in order to be sold at a higher price to customers and to local meat roasters.

She envisions making an average monthly profit of 30,000 francs CFA that will be used to meet family needs, and part of it is reinvested in the business of selling fuels.
