A loan of $5,025 helped a member to buy sheep.

Veronique's Group's story

This group has been together for 14 years and its members work very well together. Their main business is the fattening and selling [of animals].

Khemesse, standing on the right side of the photo with her hand raised, is 65 years old. She is a widow and a mother of eight children, five boys and three girls. She also supports ten grandchildren.

With this loan, she hopes to buy some sheep and then fatten them up. After about five months, she will resell them.

The profits from this will allow her to manage her living expenses. And when her grandchildren get sick, she can take care of the medical costs. She also supports her grandchildren by paying for their school fees.

In this group: Veronique, Mame, Fatou Diop, Marie Joe, Rocky, Oumy, Elisabeth, Khemesse
