A loan of $1,425 helped a member to purchase a sewing machine for her tailoring business.

Asia's Group's story

Asia is a 34-year-old hard-working woman who lives in Pakistan with her husband and four sons. Her husband is a mason and one son runs his own welding shop.

Asia herself is an efficient tailor, and she wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine, but she can't due to financial constraints. Thus, as a member of a six-person group, she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. This will help her to sew more dresses and to satisfy the needs of her clients more professionally. She hopes, with the help of the loan, to reach her desired net income and be able to save for her family's future. She dreams of giving her children a quality education. Asia will extend her business if she gets a good amount of profit in the future.
