A loan of $1,600 helped to buy perfume, cream, cosmetics, and sandals.

Bella Alegria's story

La Sirena Communal Bank meets every two weeks in the La Sirena neighborhood of Manta, a city known for its nice beaches that people visit year round and for being an incomparably beautiful city with a lot of tourist attractions.

This is where Bella lives. She's 55 years old and married, and from this relationship has two adult children who are independent. Her husband works in a company in the city.

Bella's a housewife who wants to have her own resources to be able to help her husband with the household expenses, so she sells clothing, sandals, and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume, and women's accessories). She works two or three hours a day three days a week. She leaves her products on credit and collects payment every week. She has worked in this job for more than eight years and it's going very well for her.

This loan is to buy perfume, cream, cosmetics, and sandals. This is her fifth loan cycle with the communal bank and she likes it because the payments are easy to make.

Her dream is to continue expanding her business.
