Sreytouch's Group's story

A diligent farmer from Ek Phnom district of Battambang province, Sreytouch is a 22-year-old married mother of two children. To earn a daily living, she grows beans and rice as the main source of income. Besides working on her rice farm, her husband catches fish for more income. She has been engaged in this business for six years. For her, the main challenge is the pest that destroyed her crop output. To tackle this problem, she formed a group of two to apply for a new loan of 1,000,000 KHR each. Sreytouch, a fourth-time borrower, formed a group with first-time borrower in order to apply for a new loan with VisionFund, Kiva’s partner. She is satisfied with the result of her past loan, as it has returned her a good yield with high income to maintain her household. Now, she and her fellow group member are seeking 1,000,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilize, insecticide, and seeds for her farmland. She hopes to make more income from her business to improve her living conditions.
