A loan of $100 helped to pay for 20 low-cost LED lights to resell to rural households without electricity.


Theodosie's story

Theodosie is a 42-year-old woman from Gakenke District in the Northern Province of Rwanda. She is seeking a loan of $100 to purchase 20 rechargeable LED lights, which she will resell to people without electricity in her village. Every week or so, these customers will return to her to have their lights recharged for just $0.20. With the money she makes from selling and recharging lights, she will pay for the school fees of her 4 children (Marie Grace, Marie Merci, Marie Diane, and Theodethe).
