Martha Lorena

Nicaragua
Managua, Nicaragua / Personal Housing Expenses

A loan of $425 helped to buy sheets of zinc and crossbeams for fixing her porch.

Martha Lorena's story

Martha is a single mother who knows how to help her children move forward. Thanks to God, all of her children are now grown and help her with the household duties. Martha continues in her work as a janitor at a school. She also manages a small kiosk where she sells snacks, sodas, and natural beverages to the children during recess. Martha has used her loans to invest in her business, but now she needs to make improvements to the house she inherited from her mother.

She will buy sheets of zinc and crossbeams for the porch. By proceeding gradually with the building improvements to her concrete house, she will make it more durable and provide better conditions for her family. All of this has been made possible with the support of AFODENIC and Kiva, for which she is very grateful.
