A loan of $650 helped to buy toys with cash to sell to his customers who have ordered Christmas presents for their children.

Fredy's story

Fredy is 42 years old and lives in a community that combines formal and informal activities with the social life of the neighborhood, made up of building and homes, many of them constructed with the help of the federal government, home to a great number of families. There in the middle of this infrastructure, Fredy has been in business for 16 years, selling shoes, toys and he owns a photocopier, offering photocopying services, directly to consumers located around his neighborhood and especially in the area where he lives. He buys and sells in cash, and so he gets a higher discount when buying in larger quantities. The Christmas and New Year holiday season is approaching, a season when families spend more, so there is a lot of money in circulation. Fredy buys in volume to meet the demand and it becomes a challenge which is why he is asking for a Kiva loan, his first financial arrangement through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will buy with cash toys that his customers have ordered as Christmas presents to be given to their children on the night of the 24th of December, the birthday of Jesus. His goal is to increase his income and this is why he gets up every day with a lot of enthusiasm to carry on and fill it with happiness.
