Yawah's story

Yawah lives in Gardnerville, one of the well-known areas in Montserrado county that is noted for its commercial center. Yawah is 45 years old and unmarried with five children between the ages of 6 and 26 who are in school, and only four live at home. Yawah said she was unable to attend school, but she said she is very good at managing her business. She received money from her boyfriend to start her business where she sells alcoholic drinks, rice by the cup, oil, etc.

One problem that she faces is the price of the drinks, because she buys the drinks in USD, and now the exchange rate of USD to LD is too high. She enjoys the interaction between herself and her customers. Having enough money to buy a piece of land and support her home makes her proud of her business. She is asking for a loan to purchase more alcoholic drinks, rice by the cup, oil, etc. to have the attention of her customers. Her dream is to educate all her children.
