A loan of $2,350 helped a member to increase her capital and buy a lot of items for her store (rice, potatoes, palm oil...).

Gihororo Group's story

Rose is a member of the Gihororo group and lives in Bujumbura. She is 39 years old and married to Jean, a trader. The couple have three children who are between 12 and 15 years old. They are all in school. In addition, she has 5 orphans in her care who are also in school.

Rose has been selling rice, potatoes, palm oil, etc. for six years.

This is Rose's 12th loan from Turame. She will use her Kiva loan to increase her capital and buy a lot of items for her store (rice, potatoes, palm oil...). She will re-sell them and make more money.

In the near future, Rose plans to concentrate on selling palm oil, her former business. She would also like to see her children study and complete their education.

In this group: Rose, Jacqueline, Agnès, Bernadette, Capitoline
