Koba's story

Koba, age 46, runs a family agricultural business. He lives in the village of Ruisi with his wife, his retired parents, and two children.

Koba leads the agricultural business of the family. The family has a calf and a milk cow, whose milk is used in cheese products. The cheese is sold locally. They also have a plot of land where tomatoes, cabbages, maize, and onions are grown. Koba’s father works as an artisan and gets a monthly income, which allows him to help supplement the income from the family business.

Koba owns a tractor. He works with it on land cultivation in his district. For this work he is paid by the local farmers. Koba has requested credit to fix the engine of the tractor, as the engine is out of order at the moment. After the renovation, Koba will be able to continue working on the tractor and receive an income. His goal is to improve and support the well-being of his family.
